Custom Design

Create YOUR Custom Designs
One of a kind using the latest Technology

Creating one-of-a-kind, custom-designed jewelry is a specialty at Elliott’s Jewelers.

We enjoy working one on one with our clients in making their ideas come to life! We start with ideas using our new State of the Art, 3-D design center. We then create a CAD Design and finally to a finished, beautiful piece of jewelry that you will enjoy for years to come. We include our clients every step of the way!

Custom design allows you to create a piece of jewelry as unique as your own fingerprint. Whether creating a new piece, or updating an existing piece of jewelry by remounting the stones into a new design, we can bring your vision to life.

There are many benefits to choosing custom jewelry rather than “off the shelf” pieces. Deciding on whether to purchase custom jewelry depends on personal considerations. There is no denying the appeal of wearing jewelry that no one else owns, and having something that is truly unique and original.

The Advantages of Purchasing Custom Jewelry

You’ve got the only one

Most important, the beauty of custom jewelry is that it’s one of a kind. No one else will ever own anything like it. You’ll never face that embarrassing moment of walking into a dinner party with a piece of jewelry you are proud of only to find an identical one like it worn by someone else. Like a unique piece of art, custom jewelry stands by itself as the only item of its kind. It’s more personal when you know your wedding ring is one of a kind because it’s perfectly unique and all your own.

Think outside the box

Creating your own custom jewelry allows you to think outside of the box, creating your own custom fit with any stone you’d like. Diamonds may be a girl’s best friend, but that doesn’t mean she’s limited to wearing only diamonds. When you create your own custom jewelry, you are free to use any stone you’d like, whatever strikes your fancy. Choose from sapphires, rubies, emeralds, etc.  If you love diamonds, but still want something exotic, choosing colored diamonds is a great way to add some flare to your custom jewelry piece.

Recreate family heirlooms

You may have stones or metals from family heirlooms that you’d like to mix into your jewelry to give it a connection to tradition and the past. This is an excellent idea if you have a piece of jewelry that has great economic or sentimental value, but a design you don’t like. You can keep the jewels in the family by recreating an entirely new piece based on the tradition of the old. It’s a great way to pass down traditions while adding your own.

Create a romantic or loving bond

If you are looking for a dash of romance, custom jewelry is a great way to make him or her feel special and unique. There’s no one like your lover or spouse, so why not make their engagement or wedding ring completely unique? Custom jewelry is a great gift between lovers and spouses since it creates a special connection that’s unique to the couple. It can also be a great way to bond with friends and children, since you will be the only ones who share the jewelry pieces.

Custom Design at Elliott’s Jewelers

Creating a custom piece should feel exciting, personal, and straightforward. At Elliott’s Jewelers, we guide you through each step during private, one-on-one appointments, so you understand how your piece is made, what affects the cost, and what to expect along the way.

Custom jewelry involves cost for materials and craftsmanship. Each piece is one of a kind, but most custom engagement rings and fine jewelry designs typically fall into three categories.

  • Essential Custom ($800 – $3,500): Simple bands, solitaire settings, or designs featuring Semi-precious gemstones or natural diamonds under one-half carat and 10k/14k gold.
  • Signature Custom ($5,000–$15,000): Our most popular option. This includes 14k-18k gold, larger high-quality natural diamonds, and more detailed CAD (Computer-Aided Design) work.
  • Legacy Custom ($15,000+): High-complexity jewelry pieces featuring platinum, rare or large-carat gemstones, and natural diamonds, intricate designs and multi-stone designs.

Four key factors influence the cost of your unique piece:

  • Materials: The current market price of gold or platinum and the rarity and quality of the gemstones you select.
  • Design Complexity: The more intricate the detail, such as hand-engraving or hidden halos, the more time our master designers spend in the CAD and finishing phases.
  • Labor & Artistry: With over 40 years of experience, we focus on creating pieces that last, not just look beautiful.
  • Technology: We utilize cutting-edge 3D design centers so you can see a digital rendering of your piece before we cast the metal.

To start the process, a design deposit is usually needed. This payment covers the initial consultation and the development of your 3D CAD model. It also helps us stay fully focused on your vision during private, one-on-one meetings.

Absolutely. We specialize in Heirloom Reimagining. Using your existing materials can often lower the total project cost by 20% to 40%. It’s also a meaningful way to preserve sentimental value while creating something that fits your life and style today.

Quality cannot be rushed. On average, a custom piece takes 4 to 6 weeks from the initial consultation to the final reveal. This allows time for design approval, precision casting, stone setting, and our thorough final inspection.

A custom jewelry piece is as unique as your fingerprint. While a retail ring is mass-produced for thousands, custom jewelry from Elliott’s is designed for your lifestyle, your hand, and your story. And with our Price Lock commitment, once we quote your design, that price is honored even if gold prices rise during production.
